Kevin Gleason New York NY Obituary, Death: Community Mourns Passing

The community of Felts Mills and the greater Watertown area are mourning the loss of Kevin I. Gleason, who passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, following a brief yet courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 13, 1969, in Watertown, Kevin was a lifelong North Country resident whose love for family, hard work, and the outdoors defined the way he lived his 55 years.

A proud graduate of Watertown High School, Kevin began his professional journey working alongside his father at KEG Masonry, which later evolved into Gleason’s Septic and Drain Service. His work ethic and dedication to quality were unmatched. Over the years, he helped manage several family businesses, including Gleason’s Mobile Home Park and Gleason’s Gateway Motel, and later operated Gleason’s Handi-Cans for more than a decade. His entrepreneurial spirit and reliability earned him the respect and trust of his customers and peers alike.

Beyond his career, Kevin lived a life full of adventure and laughter. He had a deep love for the outdoors—spending crisp autumn mornings deer hunting with his father and brother, and sunny summer days boating on Lake Bonaparte or exploring trails on his side-by-side. His loyal companion, Amber L. Kipfer, shared many of these cherished moments by his side.

Kevin’s humor, generosity, and zest for life left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was known for his contagious laughter, his ability to make others smile, and his willingness to lend a helping hand without hesitation. He also gave back to his community as a member of the Felts Mills Fire Department, serving with dedication and pride.

Kevin leaves behind a loving family, including his children Kevin (Jessie) Gleason II and Brittany (Travis) Thomas, his six grandchildren, his companion Amber Kipfer, and many extended family members and friends who adored him. His life was one filled with love, laughter, and purpose.

To the Gleason family, we extend our deepest condolences. May Kevin’s memory continue to bring comfort, strength, and inspiration to all who knew and loved him. His spirit, kindness, and laughter will live on forever in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
